Why en exists
Most founders don't fail from lack of effort. They fail because they spend months on the wrong thing.
We can ship fast, iterate constantly, and still get stuck on one question: what is the right move right now? In isolation, there is no way to reality-check our own conviction, and no one to hold us accountable when our intentions slip.
I built en to solve a problem I lived firsthand. As a solo founder, your internal monologue is often your only sounding board. The hardest decisions have the least reliable signal, and no one has enough context to really check in. Without peers who truly get your stage, give honest perspective, and hold you to your commitments, blind spots persist and priorities drift.
What en is
en builds the infrastructure for better human judgment, starting with founders.
Every month, you check in on past commitments, get honest feedback and perspective on your current priorities, and state your next step out loud.
en is not a community or a networking platform. It is a structured system designed for peer accountability and calibration. The network that follows is a byproduct, and the most valuable kind you can build.
Our name comes from the Japanese word 縁 (en), the invisible threads that quietly shape who shows up in your life at the right time. We make those threads intentional.
Our vision
A world where no founder navigates consequential decisions alone.
Our mission
To build the infrastructure for better human judgment, starting with founders.
Our principles
Accountability over good intentions
Saying you'll do something and actually doing it are different things, and isolation makes it easy to let the gap grow. We build circles that check in on what you committed to every month, so follow-through isn't just up to you.
Calibration over advice
We don't hand people answers. We help founders sharpen their own judgment by bringing priorities to peers who offer honest perspective and test assumptions. Conviction earned through calibration holds under pressure. Borrowed answers don't.
Honesty over comfort
The most valuable thing a peer can do is share what you can't see alone. We build for real signal, not for surface validation, encouragement, or networking.
Depth over breadth
A circle of three high-context peers at your exact stage is worth more than a room of strangers with generic opinions. We optimize for relevance and depth, not reach.
Continuity over transaction
Accountability and calibration both compound when peers stay together long enough to build real context. Every circle runs for a minimum of three months so the people checking in on you actually know your reality.
Built with care
- Every applicant is personally reviewed by our team.
- Every circle is hand-matched based on stage, goals, and context.
- Every 60-minute session is designed for psychological safety, honest calibration, and real follow-through.
Join your first circle
Don't build in a vacuum, and don't waste months on the wrong priorities. Better decisions start with real accountability and honest calibration, the kind that comes from peers who hold you to what you said you'd do, understand your context, and have nothing to gain from telling you what you want to hear.
If that's what you're looking for, we'd love to meet you.
